The story of the haunted "Unfinished Railroad" on the Manassas National Battlefield is a bit contrived. The history of those unfinished rail beds is simple. The company laying that section of line went bankrupt. Two other mistakes mentioned in this sites version was that General Robt. E. Lee ordered the building of this line. Two rail companies and the town were involved, not the Confederate Army. There was a Civil War battle involving this section of unfinished and "non-railed" line. General T. J. "Stonewall" Jackson had his men using it as a large rifle pit, for protection. The Union lost a great number of troops trying to capture this position.
