tripadvisor.com an ugly owl logo but a good online travel agency: First of this website has far too many moving animations and blinking text, which I find quite distracting and annoying.
The home page has search options for hotels which is not the first thing I want. I prefer to book my flight first then deal with booking the hotel as flights are more difficult to find than hotels. Also the prices of flights can vary considerably. But nevertheless I have to mention that tabs used searching for flights are very fast and responsive, it appears they use ajax functionality here which is rapid and pleasant to the eye.
The default values are selected perfectly and nicely does my job for me.
The other tabs such as cruises, restaurants, things to do and forums are very helpful for planning my holiday. I have to reiterate that the forum is great to find out stuff before actually going somewhere. Also the user reviews of hotels is a great head up to stay somewhere pleasant.
