Though I prefer Final Cut or Adobe Soundbooth, for being open source and free this product is hands down awesome. I learned a lot of editing skills from Audacity. There has been many times I have needed to edit and did not have my fcp or SB and I just went to SourceForge and downloaded the software. Audacity came through. Good stuff.
