The Bible nowhere suggests, endorses, or prescribes endless sexual obsession or thrill seeking in marriage. In all things, we are to be self-controlled and informed by the Spirit. I can say unequivocally that the following topics and practices (a few of the endless dozens of shamelessly discussed acts at the MBF) are inspired by porn and not the Spirit: anal sex (abuse of the body, homoerotic), golden showers (degrading one's spouse for personal gratification), home porn (a conniving way to circumvent looking at the real thing), double penetration (abuse of the body, threesome fantasy), dirty language (we are to avoid profanity and course joking. Poster Gemma, however, brazenly proclaims that Jesus loves it when we talk dirty to our spouse), cross-dressing (gender-bending, which God detests), rimming (unsanitary and unhealthy), and pegging (abuse of the body, gender-bending, and homoerotic fantasy). There are dozens of other indecent discussions, especially in "Not So Common".
The Byerly's make money from this disgraceful forum. And have for many years. They will someday have to answer for false teaching, and encouraging heresy.
Interesting footnote: the really damning stuff that could unquestionably damage the shaky 'reputation' of of the place disappears. Like the thread started by the alcoholic 'pastor' who wondered if it would be ok to get drunk as long as he didn't engage in debauchery. The MO at the MBF, always, is to outwit the plain meaning of scripture.
I concur 100% with the previous review. I've lurked at the MB boards, and it is a horrible, salacious, God-dishonoring sex chat forum. The owners, mods, and active posters (which are few) can be summed up in a single word: heretics. Sex is the god they worship, and Christianity figures in only in ways that don't interfere with the pursuit of their sexual appetites.
The married owners are a former porn addict and divorced woman. Apparently their 'sexpertise' prompted them to want to liberate hopelessly undersexed Christians. I suspect the owners and mods (and a number of the posters) knew one another prior to the site launch, as it seems unlikely that these sexual dissidents just stumbled onto one another in cyberspace. They claim to be ordained ministers, but they are not ordained through any seminary. They "home church", which is not surprising given the toxic nature of the enterprise they so proudly oversee.
By the owner's own admission, members have lost their jobs, ministries, and friends by being found out through their posting histories at the site. But hey, they're liberated! Following links to member's individual blogs, it almost invariably is revealed that that following *liberation*, the new sex positive Christians leave their stuffy old churches. What a surprise!
On individual posters: txtwindad is a particularly arrogant Bible mangler, who brags on his wife's clean anus and various B&D proclivities.
JobMan29 is a mod who writes at length on his turn-ons, which include going with his (panty-less) wife to Payless shoe stores and helping her to try on shoes while looking up her dress. He claims to be a pastor.
Lately, a diaper wearing 'pastor' checked in for advise.
Finally, a guy has weighed in about how the info at the MB Boards caused him such dissatisfaction with his wife, that he divorced her.
Oh -- and there's the death fantasies thread. I missed that one in my 40+ years as a Christian.
Cultish discussions and rationalizations which encourage pornifying marriage, by sexually addicted 'Christians' who seem to hold that pursuing their carnal obsessions (largely carried over from 'previous' porn habits and sexual experiences) in the bedroom is Christianity's highest ideal. The fact that at least a couple of the 'moderators' regularly devote thousands of words to lurid descriptions of their kinks absolutely disqualifies this site for Christian consideration. I can hardly imagine this crowd would actually want to be engaging in promoting "sticky sexcations", pegging, golden showers, B&D, rimming, DP or cross-dressing when the Lord returns. "It isn't expressly forbidden in the Bible" will seem like the silly, thin gruel that it is.
The Marriage Bed Forums are a toxic waste dump of x-rated chatter between (unmarried to each other) men and women discussing, in the most graphic descriptions, the most personal and intimate details of their sex lives. How making known to *the entire world* preferred anal sex techniques is not defiling the marriage bed is anybody's guess, but there is no sexual stone left unturned here. There are a handful of erudite 'biblical scholars' endlessly twisting and ignoring scripture to rationalize passions and practices that the secular world would deem bizarre. Any remotely conservative commentary is branded legalistic and judgemental, and such posters either are banned, or deactivate their accounts. We wouldn't want to hurt the feelings of pantyhose wearing 'Christian' men who enjoy being sodomized by their strap-on wearing wives, would we? So much for the body being the temple of the Holy Spirit. And while we're on the topic, at the Marriage Bed forums we learn that the Holy Spirit instructs each of us *individually* about what is sin and what isn't. Therefore, while rimming is unsanitary, unhealthy, and revolting to most, why *it is blessed by God* for a certain few that have prayed about it.
