Useful for basic translation: Though BabelFish is seen by many as an efficient translation system, it is not as good quality as some think. It is fine for basic translation, for communicating with foreign locals, for example, but even then you may get chuckled at. It should by no means be used for anything of importance or significance. An essay, for example.
