Beolingus German Dictionary: Warning: This site contains adverts, although they can be entirely blocked by means of, for example, Adblock Plus.  
An excellent dictionary, which enables rapid looking up of words, as well as clicking on results to check their translations and thus their relevance. Other features include grammar, example sentences, proverbs, and unit conversion.  
Undoubtedly the best German dictionary on the internet, and surpassed only by the largest of single-volume paper dictionaries.
