A well-oiled site that tries to do a bit too much: Bestfares.com is a site that offers services both for finding places to go and for buying the tickets and trips to those places. The site has an excellent interface, with fewer advertisements than one would ordinarily expect from a site such as this one, but it suffers in that it tries to do too much. The aspects of the site that allow you to buy the tickets get bogged down beneath the attempts to tell you where you should go, and sometimes it is impossible to find any tickets to where you are going, despite the fact that I always am able to find tickets directly from the airlines on my own. However, I love the reviews of the various destinations, and the site does not lack for details about suggestions of where to go. Finally, if you really want to get good fares, the membership that the website offers is excellent. I frequently am able to find tickets that give the whole promised 70% off- when they happen to have tickets to wherever I want to go.

If you become a member of Best Fares, you will receive email updates about their cheapest and most exciting discounts regularly. Active military or veterans can receive up to 80% off some cruises. I have a few complaints, and is that the website does offer anything else that the other big travel sites like Expedia and Hotwire do not already have. They do not compare prices from any other travel sites, so you will have to do the comparisons yourself.
