Opentable.com can't be trusted. I made reservations on their site for 9/7/09 at The Red Canary in Chicago. After walking 40 min to find the place, we found out it was closed for the day. My girlfriend asked, 'Why didn't you just call to confirm?" I said, "Because with Opentable.com, you don't have to call, it makes calling redundant." To which she said, "Not if they are as crappy as this."

I will no longer use Opentable.com. In fact, I'm encouraging my friends here and in NYC to stop using it. Caveat Emptor!

Making dinner reservations is a piece of cake!: When I need to make reservations, this is always my first stop. There are tons of restaurants to choose from. You can search by cuisine or by area. Each restaurant has its own page with info on cuisine, pricing, menu, hours of operation, dress code, and more. If you register with the site, you can also earn dining reward points. And, if for some reason you need to cancel your reservations, that's a snap as well.

One drawback I've found is if you are trying to make a reservation for a large party. If there are more than 4 or 5 people in your party, the site often times won't let you make a reservation. It's not too big of a problem, though. I just call the number listed for the restaurant and make a reservation directly.
