This site is the best for checking on the vin number if you are buying a used car. DO NOT BUY USED CAR WITHOUT A CAR FAX CHECK...!!

Caution is always warranted: There is a video online ( you will have to search for it) that warns about carfax not having up to date info on lots of vehicles. I would be careful about trusting carfax.  
 
I realize I don't have the exact information, but do your homework before using carfax.
