It's like having your own personal travel agent on line!: I loved this site! Being able to access flights from your home airport saves time and money. I abhor websites that publish cheap fares only to find out that they are from only big city airports and when you search from your own, it's hundreds of dollars more! I appreciate that the site details passport and carryone information as so much has changed in the past 18 months. Posting the cheapest days and times to fly is outstanding --- now the average traveler will have the same insights as those who plan travel for a living. Outstanding website!
The only negative is that the first line stating "FairCompare compares prices with more airlines is a little difficult to read at first. Using "compare" next to each other makes the reader stumble.
Fare does not Compare.: From the start this page was not attractive. Travel sites occasionally need to pop (standout). Especially if they are websites which aren't into major advertising. They need to do something different. When I go to this site, I didn't know what it was that made them different. It looks like any another travel site and because of that I'm going to stick with what I know best. On a positive note one thing that did stand out to me was the menu "Best Time to Buy." I learned a thing or two, and I think this is a great addition to their web page. Overall the web page wasn't particularly professional, but I it has potential.
A Quick Look at Airline Prices: I found this site quick and easy and it gave me lots of valuable information. It compares fares along a route for multiple airlines allowing you to choose what works best for you. It also allows you to have other travel site searched at the same time so that you can "comparison shop" from one place. Additionally, the site gives information on specials and low fares from the departure airport, "cheapest time to travel" information, and other interesting tidbits that may be helpful to travelers.
The only negative was that I had to wait awhile for the results. I intentionally picked a route that would probably not be normal just to see and it did take a bit of time. But the results were good and definately usable. Overall a decent site if you are looking for comparison or don't have a favorite airline you plan to fly.
