Amazon is A-1: I shop regularly at Amazon and have always found the site to be extremely user-friendly. Once the user sets up an account, purchasing items is simple and fast. You are not asked the same questions over and over again each time you make a purchase, a practice which has discouraged me in the past from visiting other, more complicated sites.
Another benefit of shopping at Amazon is the ability to purchase books, audiobooks, movies, etc. from outside vendors, either new or used, which you may find for sale at a lower price than Amazon's. These vendors' business practices have been checked by Amazon and the companies know they will be dropped very quickly if many customer complaints are generated and sent to Amazon.
I never shop at Wal-Mart anymore!: I currently have Prime (a few extra a month) and it is worth every penny. Amazon is the main retailer, but other companies can sell through them, making their inventory gargantuan!

I do all my shopping there, and most even directly from Amazon, new. It is an extremely large conglomerate website that sells everything you could ever want, as well as hosting several other websites. The website easily has the cheapest prices online, and everything that you could ever want. It also lives up to its promise to be the most customer-centric company ever. There has never been anything that they have not been able to do for me, except for merging two of my accounts when I got a new email address. The only negative thing that I can possibly say about Amazon is that they sell too much advertising space on their site given everything that they carry and sell.
Messy, but it's all there: Amazon still has way too much stuff crammed onto every page, yet still nobody comes close to Amazon in selection and price. It's the megamart of ecommerce.
