Stop paying this cancer. AARP has turned into a money laundering cartel for Republican politicians and has abandoned all pretenses of representing and protecting the interests of retired or retiring Americans. The take our money and turn on us. This org is populated with nothing but paycheck bums and PR bullshitters. They will not allow paying member to even talk to decision making and policy personnel.
Recently they released announcements that they were fine with cuts to Medicare and Social Security as 'their part' in dealing with the so called national debt.
They are liars and cheats. The national debt is mostly smoke and mirrors. The Budget cruch politicians are using to run the scam is not caused by older Americans using benefits the paid for in advance. Nor is it caused by medical care paid for in advance with decades and decades of hard work. It has been caused by massive tax cuts and giveaways to Republican supporting billionaires and unfettered foreign military adventures costing trillions and benefitting those very billionaires. Do not waste your money on AARP because the benefits do not come close to equaling what you have to pay in dues. AARP should be working to assure that American citizens have the best retirement and medical benefits on this planet. Instead, the org is full of ageist jerks who care nothing about retirees and they stabbed us in the back big time by handing over Social Security and Medicaid to politicians in exchange for absolutely nothing.
