The Australian Broadcasting Commission is an iconic institution in the world of television proadcasting in Australia. It has always been known for the quality of its news and current affairs programs, and its documentaries. It has pioneered bold new Aussie drama and great children's programs on many occassions. Its network of affiliated radio programs run from local to national level, and inspire the same sense of integrity as its television arm. The ABC still remains one of the best channels on television, surviving and weathering the onslaught of digital and pay/cable television very well indeed.
