Investopedia - Great Source of Investment Information: I really liked this site because it gives clear, concise information about the investment and finance industry. It does not focus on what the hot investment of the day is or current market headlines. Instead, it provides easy to understand definitions of market terminology that the newbie or even average investor can understand. I really liked the section where a user can post a specific question. I also like that they don't charge for their more advanced information. The only thing I didn't like is that the site's first page in an advertisement. I know that they have to pay for their operation, but it really aggravates me the user using an older computer that I wait for a website to open and it lands on an advertisement, many times I'll click away if this happens.
My favorite site for looking up financial definitions: As a stock trader, I have to analyze technical data about potential stocks, ETFs, and mutual funds. Of course there are a lot of terms (for example, Beta Coefficient) that I'm not entirely familiar with. If you need to know what a certain stock metric, then you should go this site! It's literally an encyclopedia of financial-related terms, articles on investing, tutorials, and even stock ideas. I think it's perfect for people just learning how to invest and for professional stock traders as well. My only complaint is that the site might be too heavy on advertisements.
